Jumbo Mortgage

Jumbo mortgages are mortgages larger than the conforming loan limits set every year by the government-sponsored enterprises Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Any loan that meets certain criteria, including falling below the limit, is considered a conforming loan eligible for purchase, while loans above that limit are considered non-conforming jumbo loans, which are subject to relatively higher interest rates.
